The City of Redlands requires all businesses operating within the city limits to obtain a business license and pay business license tax prior to commencing business operations.

The easiest and fastest way to apply for a new business license or renew your current license is using the online filing method. To begin, simply click on the “start now” button located on the right of this page. From the main menu please select the “apply” option to submit a new application for your business.

A business license issued constitutes as a receipt for the license tax paid and shall have no other legal effect. A business license is a requirement, not a permit, to conduct, manage or carry on any business activity in the city. The City of Redlands Municipal Code (Chapter 5.04) requires any person, whether as principal or agent, clerk or employee, either for himself or for any other person, or for any body corporate, or as an officer of any corporation, or otherwise to commence or carry on any lawful business, trade, calling, profession or occupation in the city without first having procured a license from this city so to do or without complying with any and all regulations of such trade, calling, profession or occupation

Business Licenses are NOT automatically canceled. We need to hear from you. You may send written notification, call or email us at Redlands@HdLgov.com. Please be prepared to provide the date that the business closed or was sold and the name of the new owner if applicable.
